Flower Day!

Today Chesterbrook Academy had "Bring Your Teacher a Flower" Day. I bought these beautiful orange and yellow roses for his teachers. He was so excited about giving them out. Damon loves all of his teachers but there is one named Miss Lisa that absolutely adores Damon and gives him so much love and attention. She's not really one of his teachers but she helps out in the late afternoons when it is closing time so she sees Damon every day...Yes I usually don't get to him until closing time. When I picked Damon up this afternoon she thanked me for the flower and told me the story of him giving it to her:
Miss Lisa: (talking to another teacher)
Damon: Excuse me Miss Lisa
Miss Lisa: Hold on one second Damon
Damon: I said excuse me Miss Lisa
Miss Lisa: Just one second Damon, I'm talking to Miss Ajay
Damon: But Miss Lisa, I have to show you something
Miss Lisa: Hold one second Miss Ajay; yes Damon what can I help you with.
Damon: Miss Lisa, I got you a flower (and gave her a big hug on her leg)
She said her heart just melted and he was so sweet to give her one. She thought that one of the teachers just gave it to her so she wouldn't feel left out but they said, "no Damon made sure you got one."
Damon giving Miss Dawn her flower. She bent down and gave him a big hug but I wasn't able to get a clear picture of that.
Damon giving Miss Ajay her flower and then a quick pose for the camera.
Miss Dawn and Miss Ajay are wonderful and Damon really likes them. They are so sweet and caring to him that it gives me comfort leaving him for a good 10 hour day.

A Little Sunday Fun!

My parents get the pleasure of frequently seeing hot air balloons float over their house. Several years ago one actually landed in their back yard. Everytime Damon sees one he always asks if we can ride in one. I'm going to look into that for him but for now he can watch them from the ground.

Oh and Damon is in to Hockey now...

Back at home, Damon decided he wanted to master the rope swing. I remember just a year ago he started swinging on it and was able to hold on but not for long or very high. Now he's able to do all sorts of tricks. He never stays on it long because it ends up hurting his hands after awhile.

For some reason I wasn't able to get clear pictures of him swinging so not much to see.

A little indoor basketball...

Okay remember that big gift I bought...I mean Santa bought Damon? You know, the 5 in 1 game set that has air hockey, pool, ping pong, Foosball and basketball. Well it is finally all put together. When my dad and I were putting it together Christmas Eve we didn't realize we needed a drill nor that it would be so complicated. Well time has just flown by with all of the events in our life and we never got around to completing the project...until tonight.

My brother and my dad came over to put it together, well not so much my brother as my dad. Anyway after a few errors we finally got it done. The game table is supposed to have the basketball attached to it however I was not dealing with putting it together so we hung the backboard on the wall and we played a little one on one.

Looks like the Jordan expression right before a big...
...slam dunk!

Damon was so excited to have that in his room. Okay I was too...

Ewww...mama's got skillz!

Next thing I know all four of us (Damon, Tyler, G-Paw and me) are playing basketball. We had a lot of fun. Can't wait for our next game...I got Damon!

Animals, Sports, Four-Wheelers...Oh My

Today I took Damon by G-maw and G-paws house to play. We stopped by the "farm" to see the new baby donkey. We didn't actually get to pet the baby because she was too scared but the mom was no stranger. Damon just loves animals and I can totally see him being a veterinarian.

I took this picture and I immediately thought of me and Damon...this is us.

After our donkey visit we played a little baseball. For Damon's birthday I bought him all of the baseball gear so ever since then he has been wanting to play baseball any chance he gets. I bought him a Tee to hit off of but we haven't even used it yet. He does so good hitting off of me and trust me when I say I don't just lob it in there. I throw it pretty straight and fast. He absolutely loves sports so I can totally see him being a professional athlete.

Not only is he good at the sport...
...he looks cute in a baseball hat!

After baseball "practice" G-Paw jumped on the four wheeler with Damon and they went riding. Damon loves going fast and pretending he is racing. He even got brave enough to do some pretty amazing tricks on the four wheeler. Okay so they were at a stand still but it was pretty brave just the same. I can totally see Damon competing in Motor sports.
These crazy guys...
...are buddies from way back!
Not only is this boy so versatile and good at everything he is smart, caring, and funny so the sky is the limit for him.

I LOVE DAMON RYDER!

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow...

Oh about 6:30 last night I get a phone call from a physician I work with stating she was out of town this weekend and was planning on flying home last night but flights were canceled. She was calling to tell me she was going to drive home through the night but knew we were expecting snow.

Physician: I hear we are supposed to get snow tonight.
Me: That's what they say but I don't think we will.
Physician: Oh so it's not snowing now?
Me: No it's just raining.
Physician: Good well I'm driving through the night but not sure if I'll get there by the morning patients.
Me (now looking out the window): Oh! I'm sorry, it is snowing. In fact the entire ground is covered with about 2 inches of snow. Wow that was quick.
Physician: Ha Ha Ha you are too funny.

Okay so I totally did not know it was snowing outside. Of course Damon and I got dressed immediately and headed outdoors. One of our neighbors and his son were outside playing as well so Damon and I jumped right in and started a snowball fight. We were kicking major butt until all of the boys turned on little ole me and then I got pegged with snowballs left and right. We played for a good hour before I had to make a quick trip out in all of that mess.

This morning my work called a 3 hour delay but of course Damon's school closed for the entire day. Don't get me wrong, I love me some snow days but I don't love it falling on a work day. It completely throws me off and when I have to work and Damon's school opens late or in this case closes completely then I start to get frustrated.

We played out in the snow a little bit this morning and I headed into work taking Damon with me for a few minutes until my cousin was able to pick him up. Anytime this happens we work together so that we can each get some work hours in. I stayed at work until 3:45 and then came home to watch the boys and she went into work until 6.

We make a great team! Thank you Christina for all of your help! We love you!

*****NO camera therefore no pictures. I have to get a new one...
