Today Damon had a play date with his good friend Riley. It has been several weeks since they have hung out together and it was several weeks too long. I packed a picnic lunch for both kids, Laurie and myself. Damon and I went to their house to pick them up and off to Jeton Park we went. This park is beautiful covered with woods, trails, beaches and the lake. They had a great time playing. My cousin and her son Aden met us out there as well. It was a nice time. The kids ran around and played and the moms got to do some adult talking.
After about an 2 hours at the park we headed back to Laurie's house to get the kids changed for pictures with the Easter Bunny. Of course we had to take our own pictures of the kids. Honest to goodness, we did not really have the kids pose. We just told them where to stand and the posing came from them. You can tell in each picture they really care for each other.
This has to be my favorite! Again we did not tell them to pose this way, we just said sit on the stairs. I thought they were going to sit side-by-side but this is what they came up with. So cute!
Ugh! I could just eat both of them up!
We made it to the mall where the Easter Bunny was "working" that day. The kids were so excited. We were fortunate enough to get the kids together with the bunny and then individually. They did great.
The kids waiting patiently for their turn to sit with the Easter Bunny.
A quick picture with both of them. I am not able to scan Damon's picture that I bought with him and the Easter Bunny so as soon as I can get a friend to do that for me I will have his picture up here.
After the mall we went back to Laurie and Riley's house so the kids could play inside for a bit. Laurie and I sat on the front porch...well Laurie sat as she was kind enough to give me the hammock. Can I just say that is the best lounging device ever. It has been awhile since I've been in one of those things and I laid in it for a good 45 minutes. Yes the kids eventually figured out where I was and came out to the porch help me "swing". Needless to say, I hit the side of the house several times...those kids are strong!
Later we went downstairs to fix some gourmet dinner-cheese nachos, frozen pizza and leftover salad. Hey it was a good dinner considering we had been going all day. More kids came over later that night and everyone played really well together. Damon and I finally left around 10:15 tonight so we could get in bed before the Easter Bunny came to Damon's home...
