Morning Conversations

Most mornings Damon crawls into bed with me until it's time to wake. During the week we don't really get to lounge around because we have to get up and get ready for work and school. Weekends however is a different story...

Here are some of the things we talked about in bed this morning:

Damon: Good Morning Mommy.
Me (just waking up): Good Morning Babe.
Damon: Don't worry, I won't let anything happen to you.(rubbing my face)
Me: What would happen to me?
Damon: Bad guys but don't worry I won't let anything happen to you.
Me: Oh, well, I won't let anything happen to you either.
Damon: No mommy I won't let anything happen to you because I'll beat the bad guys up.
Me: Oh I'm sorry, thank you babe.
Damon (flexing his arm muscles): Do I have strong muscles.
Me (feeling his arms): Wow Damon! You do have strong muscles.
Damon (smiling): I know.

Damon: Can you do this? (making noises with his mouth and tongue)
Me (pretending that I can't):No.
Damon: Let me show you. (Now using his hands to mold my mouth the way he does to make the noise)
Me (trying it again and doing it this time)
Damon: You're doing it mom! That is so good. I am so proud of you.

Damon: Mom you have a little mustache.
Me: Uh...I guess I need to wax huh?
Damon: You don't have a big one like a boy but you have a little one.
Me: Oh lord, I'm embarrassed. (covering my hand with my mouth)
Damon: I'm just kidding you don't have one.

I love our morning time together. It is the one time throughout the day we are not moving, no distractions, talking soft, and being completely patient with each other. I would love to be able to do that throughout the day...but then how would you get anything accomplished? ;)
